A new Canon at the Cathedral!

We also have a new Canon at St Salvador’s. Our own rector Andrew Bain was installed as a Canon of St Mary’s Cathedral during evensong last Sunday alongside Bob King who is based around St Andrew’s, Kelso in the Borders, and Malcolm Round of St Mungo’s, Balerno and Livingston. The service was recorded and can be viewed on the cathedral’s YouTube link. Congratulations to them all, a recognition of the service they have given and continue to give to their charges and the diocese as a whole.

It’s so lovely to learn through St. Mary’s Cathedral weekly notices that our former Chaplain is now Rev. Canon Andrew Bain. I knew Andrew when I first went to St Mary’s. I was baptised by the Rev. Elizabeth Malloch in1989 and attended Andrew’s confirmation group. I had the pleasure to go to the Oberammergau Passion Play with Andrew’s group in 1990 and, it was Andrew’s belief in my ability that encouraged me to study and graduate from Queen Margaret University (then QMC) with a 2.1 Honours Degree as a mature student (1991-95). Sending love and prayers.
